Survey of MLR Reviewers Demonstrates That Not Much Has Changed: Part 2

On our last blog, we shared results of a qualitative survey of medical, legal, and regulatory professionals about industry challenges.  These are the opportunities shared by this same group.

Alignment and education:

  • Develop cross functional and cross company teams to proactively solve common regulatory issues

  • Help the business understand that reviewers are business partners not stoppers

  • Ongoing project planning that accounts for timelines of all stakeholders

  • Ensure digital content is tailored to the format, not just a duplication of non-digital content

  • Ensure new marketers  acquire marketing skills and understand FDA/OPDP requirements for promotional materials, while being asked to submit materials for review and approval

  • Better define/apply competencies to ensure that the correct skill sets are in place to manage risk

  • Train and test marketers/content originators to align with established processes/standards; ensure baseline knowledge
